We drove back from Sacramento to Riverside yesterday so we didn't get a chance to post anything. In short it was uneventful the normal 9 hour drive on I-5.
we woke this morning to thunder, lightning, and the occasional rain shower.Even though the weather was dreary,I had some chores to do .I went to "Campworld "to pick up a gas filled lift for our utility bin.One of them broke and I have to use my head to hold it open when I access it.I replaced it,then it was on to some smaller maint. items.Dan had called me last night an asked me to help him pick up a TV at Costco. How heavy can a TV be?.........Why two people?.......... oh well I met him at his place and off to costco.Dan is my son if I hadn't already told you.when we got there they rolled out this HUGE box on a cart! I asked my son,"where are you going to put it!" "on the wall" he replied. This monster was a 55" diagonal screen and 80 bulky pounds. After straining every back muscle getting it in Dans truck,we got it home and unloaded.Dan bought a mounting bracket to put the "behemeth"on the wall. This item also weighed 20 pounds. After a couple of hours, lots of "cussing, and more "strained" muscles,it was up.sitting in a
chair resting after the ordeal,I looked up at the "Behemeth"and noticed how nice it looked, the clear HD picture, the rich vibrant color,it's like being at the movies.I wonder how big a TV I can get in our RV!

Graduation
You know when you go to bed knowing you have a lot to do the next day,and you want to get an early start, and you have been up early your whole working life.Well the"ole"retirement clock kicked in and "BAMO"it's 9am!What happened! It threw our whole schedule off for today, but being RVers we knew how to adapt,Just"go with the flow" and we did.an hour later we were on the road
We had breakfast at Mimi's in folsom and got a graduation present for Alyx.We also stopped by Folsom lake state park to see what changes they have made since we last" camphosted" there in 2007. We could not beleive how full the lake was,and the new bridge over the river was fantastic.
After a little R&R at the hotel ,we attended our grandaughter Alyx's 8th grade graduation. After the ceremony we all went out to a "celebration dinner"Alyx got to pick the place,Chinese it was!
After dinner we said our goodbys to our daughters and family and called it a night.Tomarrow we head back to Riverside.
It is always so sad to leave the ones you love, and no matter how much time you have,it's never enough. One thing Jeni and I are greatful for is, our children letting us follow our dreams in our RVlifestyle.we are truley blessed.

In Sacramento
We headed out from Riverside at 8am this morning and aside from breakfast at the "flyingJ" on the "grapevine" and a couple of "rest area"stops,we were in Sacramento at 4pm.We are staying at the"lake natoma inn".After a 15 minute power nap, we headed over to our daughters house for some delicious BBQ.and a mini family reunion. Our son in law Dustin is the BBQ(as the kids say)BOMB! It's some of the most moist and juiciest meat I've ever tasted. Our grandson DJ and our grandughter Alyx were sure glad to see grandma and grandpa.as we enjoyed some quality time with them.
I think my daughter jackie and Dustin must be thinking that the "ole man" must be getting cheap on them. First Jeni and I invite ourselves over to dinner ,and then we run out of gas in front of their house!Their probably thinking,"what next, your movin in"!Needless to say Dustin did have a couple of gallons for us so we could get to the gas station.
We had a great time as after dinner Jeni ,Jackie, our grandaughter Alyx played cards while my daughter Katie her boyfriend Billy, and I had a nice chat outside in the cool evening air.
Jeni and I enjoy the fulltime RV lifestyle alot but one of the drawbacks is,missing the kids and grandkids

grandkids
I had the pleasure of going with my son Dan to pick up his son Nevin this morning. We spent the day trying to keep up with him.To add to the workout,he also was watching his friends daughter lacy.these two sweet younguns kept us moving all day.Inside, outside, swing me(not that way!),lets play ball, another drink please, well you get the idea.Watching little ones is not for the faint of heart,it's work! Any time we can see our grandchildren it's an adventure but a fun adventure we cherish.Did I mention that we are going to Sacramento tomarrow to see our daughters and Grandaughter! NOOOOOO!!!!!!
After my "baseball marathon" yesterday,It was Jeni's turn for a "womens day".So while my son and I were" wrangling"kids, she was catching up on her reading.I made it back to the RV at 6pm mindless from the days task,GRANDKIDS! Jeni made me a nice dinner and" all was right with the world again."

ballgame
Well it was a lazy friday.Jeni went over to our son Dans to check on the lawn we recently reseeded and also water to plants.I of course had a huge list of things i was ready to tackle.let me review what i actually accomplished.#1 watch cubs-dodger game and snack.#2 watch oakland A-texas ranger game plus more snacks.#3 watch 2nd game of a double header A's-rangers and even more snacking.a little nap from time to time during the games and before I knew it it was 6pm.When jeni wanted to know what we should do for dinner seeing it was fri. night,I had the perfect idea,"hotdogs at the minor league baseball game!"Our son Dan and his friend had tickets so we all went.It was the LA dodgers singleA team the"66ers"their stadium just a few miles north of us in San Bernandino. We all had a great time.Actually I accomplished nothing today except for a little "man pampering"but we all need that from time to time.I'm lucky to have such a loving and understanding wife. Thanks Jen!

lawn work
We have been helping our son Dan with his new place. We have been reseeding the grass in the backyard.so the grandsons have grass to play on when they are over.
going from Dans house to the RV and back, our RV has gotten alot smaller, and when I use the restroom at the house ,I keep trying to depress the petal that isn't there! Life in an RV,always an adventure.
Jeni & I are hoping we can be out of Riverside by mid July and on the road north to Oregon and Washington. We might look for a volunteer job for a couple of months.
We have been lucky with the weather the last couple of wks. Overcast and cool in the morning, and warm and sunny in the afternoon.
I told Jeni today,we have been here too long,I'm getting to know my way around the city too well!
We are looking forward to the trip to Sac. this Sunday.
